A source says, “There was a vital sequence in which Vikram had to climb down a 2000 feet high cliff. Action director Sham Kaushal had taken all necessary precautions to make sure there was minimal risk involved for the actors but he didn’t know Vikram had a vertigo problem. Being a thorough professional, Vikram did not outright refuse to do the shot, but his anxiety while doing the rehearsals was sensed by co-star Abhishek Bachchan, with whom he shares a great working relationship.”
Abhishek walked his talk by volunteering to do the stunt himself. “Despite not being required for the shot, Abhishek began climbing down the mountain and asked Vikram to follow suit. All the while, Abhishek, who was not in the frame, showed by example how the shot should be done. Vikram, who was feeling much more relaxed about the whole thing, gave a perfect shot.”
While Vikram could not be reached for comment, an official spokesperson of the film confirmed, “It’s true. Such an incident did happen.” Source

Hrithik said to be in fact personally bearing the complete medical expense of 10 paraplegics from different city hospitals, including the cost of hospitalisation and medicines. This is costing him about Rs 7 lakh per month, sources revealed.

Amitabh Bachchan, who gave the Filmfare Awards a miss owing to conflict with Mumbai Mirror, wrote, “At the Filmfare Awards, when Mumbai Mirror had not appeared, the affable editor Jitesh Pillai had asked me if I would give the Lifetime achievement Award to Shashi Kapoor and I had agreed. I missed that more than the expectation of winning the best actor award. Seeing him confined to a wheel chair, was something I could never associate with Shashi ji.”
“Shashi Kapoor, that handsome gentle man. A smile on his face forever. A considerate calling on each meeting, now in this condition? Never!” the actor wrote.
Big B further wrote about his wonderful association with Shashi Kapoor. “He had pulled me out of a scene in his film where I, because I was hungry and did not have the money to feed myself, had taken the job of an ‘extra’ a junior artist, in the film where he played the hero. It was a James Ivory - Ismail Merchant film, ‘Shakespearewala’. A funeral scene was being picturised at the sea rocks off Bandra Band Stand. I took up an offer to be part of the crowd that had come to mourn the death of the ‘Hero’ Shashi Kapoor; part of the funeral party. He was not supposed to be there at the shoot - the scene was his funeral!! But he was there and he spotted me. Came up, pushed me out of the crowd, chided me with ‘Are you mad! You have bigger things in store for you, don’t do this’ and walked away.”
“Film after film we did together, Shashi ji and I, and shared some of my most memorable times together in the Industry. He is now my relative. His elder brother, the great Raj Kapoor’s daughter Ritu’s son Nikhil is married to Shweta. I spoke to him on his birthday some days ago and then again when I wanted to invite him to the premier of ‘Paa.’ He had sounded weak in voice and expressed his inability to come. ‘I am not well’, he had whispered faintly and I told him I would arrange a special screening for him. But I had never expected him to be the way I saw him at the Award function in the pictures a few

“Abhishek did some kar seva by cleaning up the premise, and washing the dishes at the langar (in the Golden Temple). There were two other prominent gurdwaras that they visited,” Amitabh posted on his blog bigb.bigadda.com Thursday. The 67-year-old, whose mother Teji Bachhcan belonged to a Sikh family, is happy to see the religious side of his children.
“It is always such a joy to see children putting their minds to faith and devotion. Nothing would give me greater joy and nothing I believe could be better than their achievement in belief and prayer,” he added.
Abhishek, who visited Amritsar for the shooting of his reality show “Bingo”, also posted a message on his Twitter page saying: “Went to the Golden Temple at 3 in the morning. Did seva for about an hour, then just sat there listening to the kirtan.” Source

Apparently, the ‘Veer’ babe had found the cat in a rather fragile state. On rushing it to the vet, Khan learnt that malnutrition and weak bones had resulted in the cat’s ill health.
Admitting it to an animal hospital, Khan visited Softy every single day of the month. However, she was pained to be dissuaded by docs stating that Softy’s chances of survival were rather dismal.
A determined Khan decided to walk barefoot from her residence to a famous ‘dargah’ to obtain some divine assistance for her pet. Source

“Salman wanted the scene to be flawless and ended up getting breathless since he was shooting close to so much fire. He had to be rushed to the hospital after the scene was successfully canned,” said a sources in the film unit. In spite of the doctor`s advice to take rest for the next couple of days Salman went back to shoot for the other scenes the very next day.
“Everyone was impressed with Salman`s professionalism. It was clear that the fire scene was a difficult one to shoot but he took several takes to get it right. He visited the doctor and was back to shoot the very next day since he did not want to interrupt the schedule,” said the source. Source

It is very quickly heading for September. The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer. The temperatures have dropped and the rain is pooring (Which is a good thing as we need the rain). Autumn is slowly on its way. The housemartins and swifts are thinking about leaving this country on there annual epic migration across sea and land. If you are reading this and are thinking that it sounds very depressing the fact that autumn is only just around the corner then I can say that I find September and October to be very nice. The change in the light levels and the smell of the moist leaves as they change colour and drop to the ground. It is also good to take stock of things that have and are still growing on the allotment. This year so far has been a strange growing year what with the heatwave and the very low rainfall. Some crops did not workout at all yet others thrived. Here are a frew images from my plot of a few of my vegetables I am growing

Have you ever considered if what you know about Insects And Your Garden is accurate? Consider the following paragraphs and compare what you know to the latest info about Insects And Your Garden.
While many types of insects, birds and animals seen in the home are unwanted intruders, others play a vital role in pollinating plants and moving seeds from one place to another. In fact, without these animal and insect helpers, most plants would be unable to reproduce.
Even though most gardeners understand how important this cycle of pollination and seed dispersal is, few fully understand why it occurs, or how it benefits both the plants and the animals.
The rewards of pollination and seed dispersal to the plants are easy to determine - they get to spread their seeds far and wide, and start new plants in far off locations. The rewards the insects, birds and mammals derive are many as well, and they are:
Nectar
nectar is actually a sugary solution, and therefore it is highly prized by all kinds of animals both for its good taste and for the ample energy it provides. Getting at this nectar is what prompts most pollinating insects, birds and animals to do such a good job. Nature has provided plants with various ways to attract pollinating insects, birds and animals.
Many types of flowers store their nectar in special glands called nectaires. These nectar glands are most frequently found in flowers, but they are also sometimes contained in leaves or other parts of the plant as well. Most plants are designed to protect their nectar stores from non-pollinating insects and animals, through the use of special storage locations that only pollinating insects can reach, for instance.
Hopefully the information presented so far has been applicable. You might also want to consider the following:
The use of nectar and the plants, insects, birds and animals that depend on it is a fascinating study in co-evolution. The sugar concentrations of many plant nectars have evolved to match the energy requirements of the types of animals, birds and insects that pollinate them. For instance, bees require a 30-35% concentration of sugar in order to make the honey needed by their larvae in the winter. Therefore, bees will not visit flowers whose nectar contains less than 30% sugar. Therefore, the flowers and plants that depend on bees for pollination have evolved high concentrations of sugar in their nectar to attract these pollinator’s.
Pollen
Pollen is also used by flowers and plants to attract the insects, birds and animals they need. Pollen is eaten by bees, and it is also used to make a substance called bee bread, which is a high protein combination of pollen and nectar. This bee bread is used to feed the larvae, which require a high concentration of protein to grow and thrive. Some plants, such as peonies, poppies and roses, use only pollen as a reward and produce no nectar at all. Other types of plants produce two types of pollen - their normal pollen and a sterile pollen with is attractive to pollinating insects. This evolutionary strategy ensures that the good tasting pollen will be eaten while the reproductive pollen will be spread to other areas by the insects, birds and animals that visit the plant.
Of course, this pollen and nectar does the plants no good if the birds, insects and animals cannot find it, and plants and flowers use their bright colors and strong scents to attract these animals and let them know that pollen, nectar, or both await them.
Some pollinating species rely primarily on their sense of sight, and the bright flowers are used to attract their attention. Other species, particularly nocturnal ones, rely primarily on smell. It is the scent of the flowers that attracts these scent oriented pollinator’s.

When you plant a clematis you must remember to plant it so that the stem is buried about six inches bellow the soil, this is because of clematis wilt. If you do this and your clematis does get clematis wilt then the plant should survive because it will root on the buried bit of the stem and push up new growth from the base of the plant. If planting by a fence or wall make sure that it is planted roughly a foot or so away from the fence or wall as these can draw moisture from the soil so leaving the clematis plant with very little moisture.
